The University of Twente (UT) is a Dutch university for technical and social sciences in the Overijssel city of Enschede, in the Twente region. In June 2021, 12,038 Bachelor’s and Master’s students will be studying in fields such as technical medicine, robotics, computer science, public administration, chemical technology, applied physics, geo-information sciences and earth observation, natural and social sciences. It employs 1,810 scientific and 1,340 support staff.

The university is located between Hengelo and Enschede on the former Drienerlo estate, adjacent to the Twekkelerveld residential area. It is the largest campus university in the Netherlands: student residences, staff residences, sports and cultural facilities, shops and all faculty buildings are all on the same site.

Twente collaborates with the other technical universities in the Netherlands in the 4TU federation.
